B&M Waste Services sponsor the Liverpool Echo Arena Sports Personality of the Year Award for 2010
B&M Waste Services were proud to support the great sporting traditions of Merseyside by being a key sponsor at the 2009 Liverpool Echo Sports Personality of the Year Awards held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
A host of sporting faces gave Kevin Keegan a huge ovation as he collected the B&M sponsored Bill Shankly Memorial Award from TV’s Ray Stubbs. Kevin paid tribute to the legendary manager who inspired him as both player and later England manager.
Other award winners on the night included Gordon West (Dixie Dean Memorial Award), athlete Jack Meredith (Young Sports Personality of the Year), marksman Ian Muir (Dave Russell Memorial Award) and St Helen’s captain Keiron Cunningham (Rugby League Achievement Award). Tranmere boss Les Parry received a Special Award for his years of service as club physio and his recent achievements leading the team after John Barnes’ departure.
The main award of the evening, Sports Personality of the Year, went to Fernando Torres for the second year running.
Once again, the event highlighted Liverpool’s sporting excellence and B&M Waste Services were proud to play a part in the evening. |
